Former Donald Trump aide Omarosa Manigault Newman has become the first to be eliminated from Big Brother VIP – but there’s a twist in store that viewers didn’t see coming.
The political advisor has found herself moved to a secret bunker after becoming the first star to be evicted from the hotel on the Australian series this week.
‘Oh man. Oh darn,’ the 47-year-old said after being told the news of her eviction.
She received five votes from her co-stars after being nominated alongside actor Bernard Curry and AFL bad boy Dayne Beams.
Bernard received three votes and Dayne received two – meaning Omarosa became the first VIP cast out of the hotel.
There was an unexpected development though after she was instead taken to the ‘lower levels’ of the hotel rather than being axed from the show.

Perhaps the biggest star to watch out for this year is Caitlyn Jenner, who is no stranger to reality series around the world.
The former Olympian and Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is facing off against 11 other famous faces in the upcoming episodes.
Meghan Markle’s older brother Thomas Markle Jr. is also appearing, alongside actor Bernard Curry and Big Brother Australia star Danny Hayes.
It comes after Omarosa made a comment about US President Donald Trump in a recent trailer for the show, saying she discovered a ‘disgraceful obsession’ when they opened a civil rights museum.
‘I was organising the opening of a civil rights museum. He [Trump] was fascinated with the KKK (Ku Klux Klan) garb,’ she said.
‘He was obsessed with a white supremacist display. Who is this person?’ she added.

Justin Bieber’s mental health issues were so bad his wife Hailey Bieber didn’t know if he would ever be ok, the model has revealed.
The couple were guests on the In Good Faith podcast, hosted by pastors Chelsea and Judah Smith, where they opened up on their marriage and the difficulties it first faced.
Justin, 27, revealed he was not particularly healthy when he and Hailey, 24, got back together and decided to marry, but said she ‘just accepted me as I was’.
‘When we got married there was still a lot of damage and hurt that I needed to work through,’ the I’ll Show You singer said, ‘but you had seen my heart through it all.
He added: ‘I could cry thinking about it to be honest.’
Asking Justin about his ‘mental health challenges’, host Judah said he was ‘floored’ at how the singer managed to carry on through his depression.
It was not simple, however: Hailey admitted she often had to call her mother as she felt she was ‘crumbling’ and in the head space where ‘the only person you want to talk to is your mum’.

‘I called her a few different times … one particular time I called her when we were in Brooklyn and I was like “I can’t do it. There is no way that I am going to be able to do this if it’s going to be like this forever”.
‘I remember she was so calm on the phone,’ Hailey said.
‘She was like “It’s going to pass, you’re going to be fine, he’s going to be healthy, and we’re here for you”.’
Hailey had ‘great support’ from her family, and admitted: ‘If I didn’t have support it would have been 10 times harder, and it was already the hardest thing in my life at the time.’
But Hailey was ‘all in it’ and knew she could not walk away from the marriage, telling the podcast: ‘I knew for a fact that I loved this person for a very long time and now would not be the time to give up on him.
‘I just wouldn’t do that to him. Imagine abandoning somebody in the middle of the worst time of their life … I’m just not that type of person.’
Worryingly, Hailey admitted there were days where she ‘literally was like, “I don’t know if he’s going to be ok”.’
‘Really deep down inside of me I was like “He’s going to get through it”, I just didn’t know how long it was going to take.’

Justin revealed he was having ‘weird out of body experiences’ when he was at his worst mentally, where his hands and arms would ‘feel weird’ and he would have serious sensory issues.
He said there was not one breakthrough moment where his mental health suddenly got better, but it was ‘time that healed things’.
The Baby singer said his wife’s constant support made him see ‘she wasn’t going anywhere’, which made him ‘feel more secure’.
‘I had a lot of rejection issues that I had to fight through’, the singer admitted.
Hailey and Justin also spoke about their wedding and the decision to get married so quickly, accepting that it raised eyebrows at the time.
The pair got back together in June 2018, were engaged in July and married in September, and Hailey admitted she was uncomfortable with ‘all the narratives’ and speculation as to why they were moving so quickly.

‘Obviously it’s really, really quick’, Hailey said, but argued that they hadn’t just met: they had known each other since they were children and previously dated as teenagers, and had discussed marriage at the time.
‘This is what we felt was the right decision for the both of us,’ she said, adding: ‘We always knew if we ever got back together it would be with the intention of getting married.’
However, she admitted: ‘I didn’t think I would be getting married at 21.’
Justin revealed he had always dreamed of ‘the fairytale’ of getting married and having children, as his parents were never married and he wanted what he missed out on.
The chart-topper has embraced his Christian faith and settled down since his wild teenage years, and last month revealed he would like to start trying for a baby with Hailey soon.
In a teaser from his new Amazon Prime documentary, Justin Bieber: Our World, Justin suggested he would love to ‘squish out a nugget’ with his model wife next year.

The Nintendo Switch, especially the OLED model, could end up almost as rare as the PS5 and Xbox Series X as Nintendo fails to make enough.
It would’ve been more noticeable if not for the next gen consoles being permanently out of stock, but Nintendo has been suffering its own supply issues this year, with the Switch often being difficult to get hold of – especially the newer OLED model.
That problem is apparently going to get even worse as Christmas approaches, with a report suggesting that, because of ongoing chip shortages, Nintendo will miss its production targets by 20%.
Nintendo had previously wanted to increase manufacturing to 30 million consoles for the current financial year, but according to Nikkei that’s proven impossible.
Although Nintendo hasn’t confirmed the figures involved it has admitted that production has been affected by the global chip shortage.
That confirms that Switch console shortages are likely this year and that’s easy to verify since at the moment the OLED model is unavailable at Amazon.co.uk, GAME, and Argos.
However, eBay prices are not currently that extreme and while the OLED model should cost £310 the average on eBay is only around £350.
The original Switch model and the cheaper, handheld-only Switch Lite are in stock at the moment in the UK, so it’s not as if the Switch as a whole is completely unavailable.
If you want an OLED model for Christmas though, you’re best advised to pick one up sooner rather than later.

The introduction of smart motorways should be suspended because there is not enough evidence to prove they are safe, MPs have said.
‘All-lane’ smart motorways use the hard shoulder as an active lane to increase capacity on the roads – but critics say they are dangerous.
The Government decided in March 2020 that all future smart motorways would be all-lane versions but MPs have said this is ‘premature’.
A report by the Commons’ Transport Select Committee (TSC) has said there is not enough safety and economic data to justify continuing with the project.
Instead, MPs are suggesting the Government should think about controlled smart motorways, which have a permanent hard shoulder and use technology to regulate traffic flow.
The Department of Transport has said it will ‘consider’ the recommendations.
But relatives of those who have been killed on smart motorways say the report does not ‘go far enough’.
One of the biggest concerns around the safety of smart motorways is over broken-down vehicles being hit from behind.

Claire Mercer, whose husband Jason Mercer died on a smart motorway stretch of the M1 in June 2019, said she thought the conclusions of the report were not ‘strong enough.’
Speaking to Good Morning Britain she said her husband was ‘stranded in a live running lane’.
She added: ‘An HGV came along and ploughed into them because HGVs can’t manoeuvre in the same distance that a Fiat 500 can, it never stood a chance.
‘So it ploughed into them and killed them instantly and even when they were dead across all four lanes of the road and it was a scene of utter carnage, even then, the technology didn’t pick them up.
‘It relied on members of the public to phone it in, they were dead on the road for six minutes before the road was even closed.’

She welcomed the recommendation for the rollout of smart motorways to be paused, as ‘that will give us more time to get into the High Court and get these banned anyway’.

But the committee was ‘not convinced’ that such a policy would boost safety.
It concluded: ‘The evidence suggests that doing so could put more drivers and passengers at risk of death and serious injury.
‘The Government is right to focus on upgrading the safety of all-lane running motorways.’
The committee’s report said: ‘The Government and National Highways should pause the rollout of new all-lane running schemes until five years of safety and economic data is available for every all-lane running scheme introduced before 2020 and the implementation of the safety improvements in the Government’s action plan has been independently evaluated.’

The TSC urged ministers to ‘consider alternative options for enhancing capacity’ on motorways, namely smart motorways which have the ‘lowest casualty rates’ of all roads across motorways and major A roads in England.
Tory MP Huw Merriman, who chairs the committee, said: ‘Looking at the available evidence, smart motorways do appear to be safer than conventional motorways even once the hard shoulder is removed.
‘However, this evidence is also open to question.
‘Only 29 miles of these all-lane running smart motorways have operated for over five years.
‘It therefore feels too soon, and uncertain, to use this as an evidence base to remove the hard shoulder from swathes of our motorway network.’

The RAC’s head of roads policy, Nicholas Lyes, said: ‘We feel a huge question mark remains over whether it’s right that yet more money is spent on rolling out further all-lane-running smart motorways when there are clearly viable alternatives available.’
A Department for Transport spokesperson said: ‘We’re pleased that the TSC recognises that reinstating the hard shoulder on all all-lane running motorways could put more drivers and passengers at risk of death and serious injury and that we’re right to focus on upgrading their safety, as the Secretary of State committed to doing when he became Transport Secretary.
‘We recognise that improvements have not always been made as quickly as they could have been in the past, but as the committee has set out, the Transport Secretary is absolutely committed to making smart motorways as safe as possible, including committing £500 million on upgrades and the faster rollout of Stopped Vehicle Detection.’

Smart motorways are ‘smart’ because computers constantly monitor the roads, they have the ability to change the speed limit, keep an eye on congestion and report break-downs.
There are three types of smart motorway. One is ‘controlled’, where people can drive on the hard shoulder.
Another has a ‘dynamic hard shoulder’, where the hard shoulder can be opened, and ‘all-lane’ is where the hard shoulder has become an active lane.
But concerns have been raised following fatal incidents involving broken-down vehicles being hit from behind.
Campaigners against smart motorways say without the refuge of hard shoulders anyone who breaks down has nowhere to go.

A company boss has been jailed after smashing up his £100,000 Ferrari in a 100mph crash while drunk and high on cocaine.
Darren Turner, 46, was almost double the drink-drive limit when he lost control of his high-powered California in Oversley Mill, Warwickshire, on July 23 last year.
He darted straight over a roundabout and clattered into a lamppost before the supercar ended up on the wrong side of the A435 where it nearly hit another vehicle.
Warwick Crown Court heard he had been travelling at more than 100mph in the flash red convertible, which has a top speed of 195mph, after visiting the pub.
Photos of the wreckage show the Ferrari’s rear end smashed in and the front wheel buckled in on itself.
Turner, of Kings Norton, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving as well as driving while over the legal limits of alcohol and cocaine.
He was jailed for a year and banned from the roads for four-and-a-half years.

Judge Andrew Lockhart QC said: ‘People think that offences like this don’t have victims, but they do. The victim is the public’s safety.
‘The potential for harm to other road-users was enormous, you could have caused a fatal road traffic accident.’
The court heard Turner, boss of Turner’s Pallets and Recycling based in Birmingham, narrowly missed an oncoming car during the crash.
Prosecutor Ryan Hodgkinss described how he lost control and hit the central barrier, causing the front of the car to be lifted of the ground.
The other driver had to take evasive action as it bounced back onto the carriageway near the Oversley Mill roundabout.
Defending, Patrick Kelly told the court Turner had purchased the £100,000 super car while he was drunk following the breakdown of his marriage.
He said Turner had struggled with alcohol for the past two decades and took over the Turner’s Pallets business following the death of his father six years ago.

Mr Kelly told the court: ‘He did not receive any counselling for that, and alcohol was not doing it for him, and he turned to drugs.
‘His wife had put up with the drink, but the drugs destroyed the marriage. The buying of the car itself was an act of stupidity.
‘He bought it while in drink, and was paying £1,600 a month. And because he was drunk, his insurance did not pay out.
‘He does not have a great memory of that night. He took alcohol and cocaine, and then got behind the wheel. He should not have taken the car to the pub, and he’s fully aware of that.
‘Since the accident he went on a spiral of depression. He got through that, and has remained dry and clean. He has learned his lesson.’
Mr Kelly added: ‘This was a night of stupidity. He apologises unreservedly for what he’s done. He should have known better.’

Leonardo DiCaprio has made an unexpected appearance at Cop26 after urging world leaders to do more about climate change.
The actor, who’s been vocal about the climate crisis over the past few years, was pictured masked up with security on either side as he attended the conference in Glasgow.
Leonardo, who donned a smart blue suit for the event, was mobbed by people as he arrived at the Glasgow SEC Centre on Tuesday.
Elsewhere, he was spotted at fringe events, including in Glasgow’s Maryhill district, where he posed with writer and producer Paul Goodenough for a photo.
It’s thought that the 46-year-old flew in on a commercial airline after some attendees were criticised for using private jets to get to the event.
While he didn’t announce that he would be attending this year’s event, it’s clear he’s been keeping a close eye on it, tweeting: ‘I join @antonioguterres in urging leaders at #COP26 to take crucial #ClimateAction, safeguard our future, and save humanity. Now is the time for ambition, solidarity, and action. @UN.’

He’s often spoken out about the climate crisis, previously raising $100million (£73million) through his foundation for the cause.
While Leonardo seems to have made an effort since to use more sustainable transport, in 2016, he was slammed for taking a private jet to accept an award.
A rep for Leonardo told US Weekly at the time: ‘He was asked to speak at both Riverkeeper and amfAR events, but the only way to attend the two fundraisers was to hitch a ride with flights that were already planned.
‘Leo helped both events raise millions, donated his own funds, auctioned off his house and had speaking roles in both programs.’
Despite the criticism, Leo’s stood firm in his efforts to address climate change, with it being the focus of his speech at the Oscars the same year.
He pointed out: ‘Climate change is real. It is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species. We need to work together to stop procrastinating…Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted.’

It is a truth universally acknowledged that we shouldn’t judge by external appearance, but the impulse remains: try turning up for a job interview in flip-flops.
Similarly, if you see a low-key frontage in a former garage block, a tidy but hardly spectacular wooden fence masking a simple single storey beyond, you may not expect much from the property.
But oh, how wrong you would be. For this fence, in London’s exclusive Hampstead Heath area, hides a vast 3,451sq ft abode described as the capital’s biggest ‘iceberg house’ — one in which it’s all going on below, out of sight, and one which will punch a £4.7million hole in your bank balance.

Less than a decade old, Langtry House is a relative newcomer to the sedate lanes of Hampstead, where its neighbours include Boy George and Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason.
Tucked behind the sort of prestigious Victorian pile more readily associated with one of London’s most higher-class postcodes, it was a mere garage block until opportunity met innovation.
At a funeral, the landowner met Tony Gibber, a songwriter whose tunes have been picked up by Bucks Fizz and Billy Ocean, not to mention advertisers from Barclays to Heathrow Express. Stringent planning restrictions forbade any new-build taller than the existing 11ft-high garages… but why not build down?
Thus began a year of digging (300 lorryloads were excavated) and then a year of building as Langtry House grew not so much out of the ground as into it.

Carefully tiptoeing around existing buildings and services, the design created a huge lower-ground floor, roughly treble the size of the surface build, swelling the property to a three-bed, three-bath subterranean behemoth by local standards.
The main worry with building downwards is a lack of light, but Langtry House feels more tropical than troglodyte. The ground floor’s full-height glazing grabs sunlight by the truckload and pours it — via a 25ft-tall double-height atrium — downstairs, where a sunken courtyard under a ground-floor void further illuminates proceedings.

And what gorgeous proceedings they are. Largely dressed in modernist white, Langtry House is exquisitely appointed from Poggenpohl-packed kitchen to marble-tiled bathrooms. That sunken courtyard transmits natural light to the lower ground’s two bedrooms via full-height glazing.
Indeed, there’s plenty to crane your neck at, the architecture taking your eyes on vertical journeys to emphasise height and create the feeling of space.

Lit by a glass roof, that jaw-dropping central atrium houses the open-plan living/dining area, with the dramatic staircase’s combo of wooden treads and open risers typifying the design’s combination of quality material and thoughtful flow.
Elsewhere on the lower ground floor there’s a family room, plus another space which could be a home office or gym, and the de rigueur fully soundproofed cinema room for when you do want to seal yourself away.
And just to show that not everything is upside down, the proud owner will still take the classical route of going upstairs to bed: the master suite is on the ground floor, overlooking the front patio.

As for that name, it also hides a story. It comes from Lillie Langtry, a Victorian-era actress and noted beauty. Her cousin Philip Le Breton was chairman of the Metropolitan Board of Works, who campaigned hard to keep Hampstead Heath open for the public despite attempts by its aristocratic owners to enclose and sell it for construction.
The success of said campaign may or may not have been linked to Lillie’s well-known affair with the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII — but for whatever reasons, the Heath remains free for all to enjoy.
Langtry House may not be similarly open to the public, but it honours the idea of freedom and fresh air — and reminds us that no matter what the external appearances, hidden depths may lurk.
