Jack Tweed remembers wife Jade Goody on 11th anniversary of her death

Jack Tweed has said he will ‘never meet anyone like’ Jade Goody, while remembering her on the anniversary of her death.

Jade died from cervical cancer, aged 27, on 22 March 2009, just a month after she and Jack married in a private ceremony.

And speaking about the Big Brother star 11 years on from her death, Jack has opened up about his grief while insisting he still ‘loves and misses’ Jade just as much today as he did back then.

He told The Sun: ‘Many years may have passed since Jade died, but the pain doesn’t get any less. I still love and miss Jade as much today as I did the moment she went to sleep.’

Due to coronavirus forcing people to self isolate and practice social distancing, Jack said he would find Jade’s anniversary particularly hard this year, as it falls on Mother’s Day and he isn’t able to see his own mum because of the precautionary measures in place in the UK.

Jack said: ‘It is particularly hard today as I won’t be seeing my own mum as normal so will spend a lot of time on my own, but I’ll be lighting a candle for Jade.

‘It’s the same one each year, a large candle we got on our wedding day. I know I will never meet anyone like her again.’

Jade is survived by Jack and her two sons, Bobby and Freddie, who she shares with Jeff Brazier.

In the lead up to Jade’s anniversary, Jack revealed he had battled with suicidal thoughts following his wife’s death.

‘I did have suicidal thoughts for a while, just thought what’s the point in all this?

‘I’ve lost everything and never felt so low in my life, my brother came round one day and found me sitting with bottles of tablets in front of me,’ Jack said.

Jack struggles with acute anxiety and said that he had taken medication for a while, before turning to drinking to get rid of the sick feeling he would feel every day.

‘For a while I used to drink to get rid of that feeling, but the next day you feel even worse so I decided to cut down which I have now to once a week and sometimes once a fortnight,’ he said.
