The brand new Channel 4 documentary What’s It Like To Catch Coronavirus has been branded ‘disturbing’ by viewers.
While the UK continues to endure lockdown, it’s important to be reminded what we’re all staying at home for, but it seems Brits believe the show might have gone a bit too far.
Giving an inside look at what it’s like battling Covid-19, the hour long episode followed five different people and their journeys through the pandemic.
And while documenting their road to recovery, they recorded some worrying symptoms including shortness of breath, ‘buzzing’ hands, chest pain, and their lips turning both grey and blue.
Dr Natalie Rout appeared on the show to explain some of the more severe signs of the virus.

She said: ‘People can get blue discoloration on their lips and finger tips and their nail beds, that’s something called cyanosis, and that happens when your oxygen levels are low.
‘It’s a serious sign, someone shouldn’t be sitting around looking like that at home, waiting for 111 to call back because it means your oxygen levels are likely to be very low.’
The expert added: ‘If that was to happen, I’d want someone to be calling 999.’
Viewers were quick to take to Twitter where they expressed their views on the show and how they had been left scared at what they were hearing.
‘Coughing and sore throat I could deal with but the breathing issue sounds a bit too scary,’ one wrote while another added: ‘So I’ve just tuned into channel 4 for #WhatsItLikeToCatchCoronavirus not sure I even want to watch this to be honest.’
Others applauded the channel, despite being left slightly disturbed: ‘The most HELPFUL, informative, revealing, honest (and highly DISTURBING) analysis I’ve ever seen. Thank you #Channel4.’
And it seems many felt the same: ‘This channel 4 programme on coronavirus is terrifying!!’
But it wasn’t all doom and gloom, as 35-year-old journalist Nicola, who suffered from severe symptoms was seen skipping down the street at the end of the show, after testing negative following her fight.
‘So this is it, day 14, I am free as a bird, popping out to the shops. I’ve never felt so good, and I feel like a new woman,’ she beamed down the lens.
As it stands, more than 26,000 people have died from Covid-19 while there are over 165,000 confirmed cases in the UK.
The World Health Organisation has pressed for leaders all over the world to put testing first.
And Health Secretary Matt Hancock has reassured Brits that the government will carry out 100,000 coronavirus tests a day by the end of April.
What’s It Like To Catch Coronavirus is available to watch on All 4 On Demand.
