Michelle Keegan has bid an emotional farewell to Our Girl following the season four finale.
After four years playing the role of Georgie, the 32-year-old decided to walk away from the show, and left fans sobbing with her lastest scenes.
Taking to Instagram shortly after the episode aired, she thanked fans for their support while saying goodbye in a heartfelt message.
Alongside a string of pictures and videos during her time on set, the actress wrote: ‘I wanted to share a little video of the journey that I’ve been on for the past four years.
‘Our Girl wasn’t just an acting job for me, it was special, the experience helped me grow not just as an actor but as a person.’
She added: ‘I was able to travel the world with friends I met along the way and experience things I could only of dreamt of growing up.

‘Thank you to all the cast, the crew and production team for the memories that will stay with me forever.’
Turning her attention to the fandom, the former Coronation Street star added: ‘Finally, thank you to the fans of the show for investing your time into this amazing project, watching and staying with us from start to finish. I am so very grateful.’
It comes after she shared a video onto her Instagram story ahead of the episode, where she once again gave a shout out to her followers.
Dressed in an orange gym top, with her hair effortlessly styled, she said: ‘Just leaving this here because I’ll probably be too emotional later on!
‘I just wanted to say thank you so much for all your support so far regarding Our Girl, I really appreciate it and it’s the final episode tonight.
‘Thank you so much for your support this year, honestly it’s been amazing and it means a lot to me and thank you I hope you’ve had a great day so far.’
Fans have since taken to social media where they applauded Michelle’s work on the series, before wishing her well for the future.
‘Trying not tear up that’s it’s over,’ one wrote while another added: ‘You are amazing and we are all so proud of you, was a fantastic series and going to miss you in it for sure.’
Someone else felt the same: ‘Love love love our girl!! I want more! Praying there more too come!
‘You have been a massive part of our girl! It won’t be the same without you!’
As it stands, season five is yet to be announced, however a number of actresses including Lucy Fallon, Jacqueline Jossa and Lacey Turner have already been tipped to replace Michelle.
