Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness is getting a spin-off show.

The original series, which dropped on Netflix last month and kept many engrossed through coronavirus lockdown, is one of the service’s biggest hits ever.

And now, ‘after show’ The Tiger King and I, hosted by Joel McHale will drop in just a few days.

A tweet on the official Netflix account reads: ‘The Tiger King and I — a Tiger King after show hosted by Joel McHale and featuring brand new interviews with John Reinke, Joshua Dial, John Finlay, Saff, Erik Cowie, Rick Kirkman, and Jeff and Lauren Lowe — will premiere April 12.’

In a video, Joel calls Tiger King and I ‘an eighth instalment’ of the original series, and ‘an after show hosted by me.

‘I talked to a lot of people involved in the project.’

Note: Joel has a Netflix tatoo where John Finlay once had a tattoo of ‘Property of Joe Exotic’.

The show promises to check in with some of the colourful characters to see ‘what has happened in their lives’ since the show made them among the most famous people on the planet.

As well as being known for hosting shows like Card Sharks, Joel is known for his acting work in Spy Kids: All the Time In the World and Ted.

He also appears in the sitcom Community, which recently arrived on Netflix.

The original Tiger King documentary series dropped on Netflix on 20 March.

It explored the life and times of Joe Exotic: a businessman and big cat enthusiast currently in prison for his involvement in the murder-for-hire plot concerning an animal rights activist.
