Our Girl fans have been left devastated after Poya (Nebras Jamali) was shot dead.
In shocking scenes, the fan favourite emerged in a suicide vest as he wandered the corridors of a hospital.
But before he could trigger the bomb, he was stopped in his tracks by his close friend Mimi (Amy-Leigh Hickman).
When finally realising that Poya had his hands on the trigger, she squirmed: ‘Don’t do anything, just stay pretty still.’
But he wouldn’t listen and fumed: ‘I only have to press this button.’
Trying to act strong, Mimi assured her buddy: ‘I know. I know that, but you don’t have to.
‘I am over here doing the same thing that you are, I’m a medic, we’re friends Poya, I was going to come and see your farm.’
As their conversation continued, she revealed she had been living a lie, and shared her back story with the bomber.
‘I don’t have a family Poya,’ she explained: ‘My mum gave me away when I was a baby because she didn’t want me, I was born addicted to heroine because she was an addict.’
Mimi added: ‘I don’t know who my dad was, maybe he was from Afghanistan, but I don’t know.
‘When I was four this couple adopted me and they were going to be my forever family, but she got pregnant and I think that’s why they sent me back to care.
‘I have been saying I have a family when I don’t. I’ve got no one either Poya.’
Just as she was getting through to her friend, another medic ran into the room and ended up shooting Poya through the chest.
Mimi screamed as she was being dragged away – and fans couldn’t hep but take to Twitter with all the thoughts.
‘Poya deserved better,’ one wrote while another added: ‘That scene between Poya and Mimi is hands down one of the best scenes ever.’
Others felt the same adding: ‘Omg Poya and Mimi just broke my heart noooooo.’
And it seems many more agreed: ‘Noooooooo I liked Poya. He wasn’t bad really and he did care for Mimi.’
The episode marked the end of season four, as well as Michelle Keegan’s time on the show.
She played Georgie for four years, and made the announcement of her departure earlier this year.
The actress told The Sun: ‘I’ve had the most incredible four years on the show.
‘Playing Georgie has been a life-changing role for me. I’ve loved every second… So it was a very hard decision to make not to return.’
Our Girl is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
