Sir David Attenborough is to teach kids about dinosaurs and fossils for the final weeks on BBC Bitesize’s home-schooling initiative, while the likes of Liam Payne and Jodie Whittaker are also set to muscle in.
The legendary wildlife presenter and all-round national treasure will treat pupils to a short geography lesson, appearing on BBC Bitesize Daily Primary on June 16 and June 18 as he educates the nation’s primary students on continents and oceans.
He’ll also appear on June 30 as he teaches a science lesson about animal evolution, dinosaurs and fossils.
Also on board for the final half-term include David Walliams, Pixie Lott, Jodie Kidd, Dina Asher-Smith and Scarlett Moffatt, who will be reading a selection of key texts for Celebrity Book Club on Bitesize Daily (Primary) and The Big Read on Bitesize Daily (Secondary).
This week, Manchester City striker, Sergio Agüero will be helping students learn Spanish in a special lesson for KS3, available on Bitesize Daily Online on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Martin Freeman is set to appear alongside other famous Royal Shakespeare actors for special Shakespeare lessons.
Dr Who’s Jodie Whittaker will also talk about outer space and the Solar System while Helen Sharman, the first British astronaut to go to space will read an extract from her autobiography; Seize the Moment: The Autobiography of Britain’s First Astronaut.
A Creative Week (June 29 – July 3) on Bitesize Daily Secondary will see music stars Liam Payne, Mabel, Gracey and Sea Girls take part in a special Big Song, replacing the Big Read.
Here they’ll read the lyrics to their songs, explain the meaning behind them, and set creative writing tasks for students.
