Page Six said today that Amber Heard once wrote about an experience of domestic abuse in her personal diary. It was revealed in court today that Amber woke up one morning after a fight with Johnny Depp with a shirt wrapped around her neck.
Followers of the case know Depp is currently embroiled in a legal battle with the British newspaper, The Sun, for describing him as a “wife-beater” in an article from two years ago. Heard has said in the past that the Pirates of the Caribbean star was abusive toward her during their short marriage.
Mr. Depp denies ever hitting her. Sasha Wass, The Sun’s lawyer, used Heard’s 2015 journal entry after speaking with Depp’s security guard, Malcolm Connolly, about Johnny’s relationship with the Never Back Down actress.
According to the court, Depp and Amber were once on vacation in Southeast Asia for a honeymoon, a time during which they got into a very bad fight. Sasha reportedly read the court entry aloud in court which described the incident.
“Hurt last night was particularly bad,” Heard wrote in her entry, claiming that she and Depp fell asleep together curled up against one another in desperation and anger. She also said in the entry that Johnny once found himself with his shirt wrapped around her neck.
The journal entry goes on to accuse Depp of hitting her several times, The Sun’s lawyer claims. When Sasha asked Depp’s longtime security guard if he had ever witnessed a violent fight or bruises and lesions on Heard, he said no to both questions.
Followers of the case know it has been revealing. Earlier this month, Sasha Wass, The Sun’s lawyer, claimed Depp once dangled a small dog outside of their car window while driving. The attorney says the Pirates of the Caribbean star thought it was funny.
When asked if this was true, Depp said he would never find such a thing funny and certainly did not engage in such behavior either.
Winona Ryder and Vanessa Paradis are expected to testify in defense of Johnny this week.
