Billie Eilish’s love for Justin Bieber went so deep that the singer’s parents even considered taking her to therapy.
It’s well documented that Billie, 18, was Bieber’s number one fan while growing up and she finally got to meet her idol after soaring to fame herself last year.
And while fans knew Billie’s obsession was pretty big, the Bad Guy singer’s mother has revealed the true extent of her affections.
During the latest episode of the me & dad radio on Apple Music, Billie’s mum Maggie revealed: ‘Driving to the dance studio with Billie, playing this song, sobbing, and then driving back and sobbing,’ she said in reference to Justin’s song As Long As You Love Me.
Maggie continued: ‘It was either Marina and the Diamonds or this, sobbing. Not just this, it was all of Justin Bieber…
‘Any Justin Bieber song, but I just happen to remember this one really well, and the video, and Billie talking to me about it, and being excited that it was coming out and just crying and crying. Everyone knows the whole Billie-Justin Bieber thing, but this song was a big part of it.’
Billie didn’t even try to deny it and confessed: ‘I would watch the music video for this song and just sob.’
Maggie then disclosed: ‘I just want to say, we did consider taking you to therapy because you were in so much pain over Justin Bieber.’
Billie and Justin’s friendship has been quite a journey.
The musicians finally met at Coachella in 2019 as Billie delivered her first ever performance at the music and arts festival.
Justin, 26, watched her incredible set from the wings and tweeted: ‘Proud of you @billieeilish’.
The pair were later caught on camera hugging it out and it was the sweetest moment. Billie then got to meet Justin’s wife Hailey Baldwin and the group ended up having a dance-off with talk show host James Corden, as you do.
Prior to that, Billie revealed Justin casually slid into her Instagram DMs.
Hinting at a possible collaboration, the pop star teased: ‘One day you’ll find out [what was said], but that s**t was crazy.’
Well just a few months later, Billie and Justin released their first collaboration – a remix of Bad Guy – and the rest, as they say, is history.
