Approximately one year after the arrest of Jeffrey Epstein, who was later found dead in his jail cell, Ghislaine Maxwell, his collaborator, was also charged for her involvement in the human trafficking scandal for which Epstein was also indicted.
This Thursday, the British socialite was charged with six crimes related to the alleged abuse of three minors between the years 1994 and 1997. Annie Farmer, one of the women involved in the case, alongside her sister, Maria, came out as victims this past year.
Coincidentally, The Daily Beast says that Maxwell was apprehended by the authorities on Annie’s 41st birthday. “This means the world,” Farmer said in an interview with The Daily Beast.
According to the outlet, Maria claims she was assaulted by Maxwell and Epstein in 1996 while at the home belonging to Leslie Wexner, the Limited Brands mogul. Anne claims she was molested while visiting Epstein’s ranch in New Mexico.
Reportedly, Maria spoke with the NYPD and the FBI about Jeffrey in the 1990s, but the investigation was side-stepped. The two women spoke with Vicky Ward for an interview with Vanity Fair in 2003, however, their accusations against him were cut out of the final published article.

And this past year, the Farmer sisters again filed an affidavit in Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s defamation suit against Alan Dershowitz. Maria claims she has been waiting for twenty years to see Epstein and Maxwell charged for their purported crimes.
Maria, who is now fighting against two forms of cancer, says it’s the best news she’s ever received. The case of Jeffrey Epstein is easily been one of the most controversial sexual abuse cases in recent memory next to that of Harvey Weinstein.
Due to Epstein’s mysterious death behind bars, many conspiracy theories have persisted online. For instance, in the comment section of many YouTube videos, anonymous commenters write, “Epstein didn’t kill himself,” on seemingly unrelated content.
Epstein’s death was particularly mysterious due to his ties to politicians, entertainment industry figures, and other members of the so-called “elite.”
This past year, Prince Andrew, the UK royal family member, was also questioned for his involvement with Epstein.
