Slash, the lead guitarist of iconic rock band Guns N’Roses, has said he has been working on new material during lockdown.
Now that’s time well spent.
The Live and Let Die singer was meant to be touring with his bandmates through 2020, but had to cancel due to coronavirus.
Speaking to Sweetwater, Slash said: ‘I’ve been pretty much a homebody, but I’ve been back and forth between my studio in the house and doing a lot of writing and recording on my own.
‘I’ve been jamming with Duff [McKagan] and I’ve been jamming with Axl [Rose] and I’ve been doing stuff like that, so we’ve been getting some work done that way.
‘But I haven’t been doing much else.’
That actually sounds, musically, like quite a lot… Maybe there’s a new masterpiece in the works?
Slash added he’s ‘basically just focusing on writing new music and recording demos and recording guitar stuff for Guns and whatnot.’
Guns N’ Roses have sold over 100 million records worldwide, and their biggest hits include Sweet Child O’ Mine and Welcome To the Jungle.
Their last tour, Not In This Lifetime, grossed $584.2 million (£455.1m) across 175 shows from 2016 until late last year.
The Guns N’ Roses 2020 Tour, however, was cancelled in mid-March after just two shows.
Here’s hoping there are many more tours to come!
