Mo Gilligan and Babatunde Aleshe have won viewers’ hearts with their hilarity on Celebrity Gogglebox, which explains why the pair have returned to the show.

The two pals will be getting back to the sofa for the upcoming Channel 4 show for Stand Up To Cancer.

They were joined by a whole line-up of hilarious stars including John Bishop, Roger Daltrey, the Line of Duty cast and more.

The duo clearly have great banter with each other and have us keeling over with their one-liners, but how have they become pals?

Although it isn’t clear how the two first met, their easy-going friendship tells us that it’s not just for the show.

Babatunde, 33, is an actor, comedian and a writer and you might know him from his appearances on Doctor Who and Law and Order: UK.

However, a lot of his focus is in comedy, which is probably how the two became such good friends.

He won Best Newcomer at the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards and has performed in venues including the O2 and the Hackney Empire.

Last year, Babatunde won the Amused Moose National New Comic Award and was selected to appear on The Process, a prestigious live showcase led by Dave Chapelle.

Who is Mo Gilligan?

Mo Gilligan, 32, hails from London and rose to fame in 2017 when he uploaded a sketch to Twitter.

The scene had him act out different types of DJ’s and it got him a million views in only a day.

His most famous character, the geezer, has him acting out the personality of a typical ‘geezer’, which includes saying: ‘Bring me a coupla cans.’

Stormzy and Drake even shared the likes of his sketches, which were done while he continued working in retail.

In 2018 Mo performed his Coupla Cans stand up tour with 12 dates at London’s Vaudeville theatre and two shows in Australia.

He went on to co-host The Big Narstie Show on Channel 4 with his pal Big Narstie and even got his own Netflix show called Momentum.

After landing his own talk show, The Lateish Show With Mo Gilligan, he was awarded with TV Presenter Of The Year at this year’s National Television Awards.

When did they first appear on TV together?

Mo the Comedian and Babatunde first appeared on our screens together in the first episode of Celebrity Gogglebox series 2, which arrived in early June.

Both comedians took to their social media account to share their excitement.

Babatunde simply shared a short clip of the Channel 4 series’ opening titles along with flame emojis.

Meanwhile, the late show host shared a snap of the him and Babatunde on the Gogglebox couch.

Celebrity Gogglebox continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
