We’d have to have been scrolling Twitter on our phones to have missed a very dark and pointed look from Sharon Beale (Letitia Dean) in tonight’s EastEnders – as her husband Ian (Adam Woodyatt) talked about the children he had lost.
Terrified that someone was still out to kill him, Ian told Sharon that he wanted to make amends with his family – and it seemed this was mostly for the selfish reason that he didn’t want to die.
Peter (Dayle Hudson) and Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) reluctantly came to the Vic to hear Ian out and his utterance of the word ‘sorry’ was typically half-arsed, prompting them to walk out.
Ian gave it a second shot though and implored his sons to listen to him as he talked about how he had already lost Lucy and Steven and couldn’t bear to lose them too.
At this point, from behind the bar, Sharon’s eyes darted up. As she watched Ian trying to paint himself as the victim and assure his sons that he was devoted to being a good father to them, her face took on a very telling image that fans didn’t fail to notice.
Theories have been going round for some time that Sharon knows that Ian had a hand in her own son Dennis’ death and she was the one behind his attack – before she then married him.
Could his childhood friend soon be exposed as the one who thinks he deserves to die?
Or was Sharon’s hateful look simply trapped wind?
