Fred Sirieix spoke highly of eating a Quaver in a funny monologue during the season two premiere of Snackmasters.

Snackmasters is back, and this time it’s tackling a British favourite. The show, hosted by Sirieix, tasks professional chefs with finding out the secret behind mundane snacks from every day life.

The season two premiere was back in fine form as two chefs puzzled over how to make a simple Walker’s Quaver.

The potential highlight of the episode was the distinguished Sirieix treating a Quaver with the respect of a Michelin-calibre dining experience. In a hilarious monologue, Sirieix described the Quaver, saying: ‘Mmm. Very crispy. Then you bite into it, and then it melts.

‘Then suddenly, the cheese is coating your mouth… and then it disappears and then you are craving for more.’

It’s a funny sequence, but does go to prove that the snacks and junk food we sometimes eat can certainly be great experiences.

Users gushed over Sirieix’s explination of the snack on Twitter. One user tweeted: ‘Wow, Fred can even make Quavers sound sexy.’

Another added: ‘Leave it to Fred Sirieix to describe a Quaver as ‘curvaceous’

The mix of Sirieix’s accent talking about the crisp was too much for some: ‘Waiting for @fredsirieix1 to call them ‘Qua-verrrrs’ in his accent so I can giggle and sleep happy.’

In the episode, the chef’s trying to outsmart the starchy bite were Anna Haugh and Aktar Islam.

The puffy crisp actually proved very hard to replicate as both struggled to find the secrets.

Things really went wild with Islam deciding to try and use a tumble dryer to coat the Quavers in cheese dust. Hilariously, it was revealed this is almost identical to how the factory does apply the flavouring.

You can watch the season two premiere right here.

Snackmasters will be back next week on December 17 at 8pm on Channel 4. The episode will focus on chefs trying to recreate a Dominos pizza.
