Ant McPartlin has made his first public appearance since proposing to girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett, and he couldn’t look happier.
The presenter, 45, couldn’t keep the smile from his face as he arrived at a golf club in south west London with one of Anne-Marie’s two daughters.
Ant had popped the question to Anne-Marie, 43, on Christmas Eve in a ‘very romantic setting’ after around two years of dating.
He is also said to have got the blessing from Anne-Marie’s family before getting down on one knee.
The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here host was seen taking his first golf trip of the new year, and it appeared to be a successful one as he was spotted high-fiveing Anne-Marie’s daughter on the green.
The pair were also seen with a golf instructor, who appeared to be giving them a lesson before the pair celebrated a particularly good shot.
News of Ant’s engagement was revealed on New Year’s Day, and his co-host Declan Donnelly is said to be ‘thrilled’ at the happy news, and is expected to be best man at the wedding.
A spokesperson for Ant told Metro.co.uk: ‘Ant and Amzie are delighted to announce their engagement. The proposal took place on Christmas Eve at home in a very romantic setting.’
A source added to The Sun: ‘Ant has been planning this for some time – but wanted to make sure the moment was just right.
‘He’s a traditionalist, so got down on one knee after first checking with Anne Marie’s family that he had their blessing. It was super-romantic, and obviously Anne-Marie said “yes” straight away.’
The couple are expected to tie the knot in 2022 rather than this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Judging by the smile on Ant’s face, he’s clearly still on cloud nine after a dreamy Christmas.
