Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was left in shock in EastEnders tonight (January 1), as Mick (Danny Dyer) revealed the truth about how Katy Lewis (Simone Lahbib) had abused him when he was 12.

With Mick having realised that Katy did, in fact, abuse him, he wasted little time in heading round to see her.

He quizzed her about their past, but she denied everything once more.

Unwilling to let her inside his head, Mick headed upstairs and found old letters he’d written to her years earlier. When Katy discovered he’d been snooping, she showed her true colours.

After admitting that Frankie (Rose Ayling-Ellis) is, in fact, his daughter, Katy informed Mick that nobody would believe that she abused him, and if he were to try and get a DNA test to prove it, she would accuse him of rape.

Mick was horrified at the lengths she was willing to go in order to keep her secret, but he’d had enough of her manipulation, and therefore set off to reunite with Linda before it was too late.

Linda was conflicted about whether or not to join Max Branning (Jake Wood) on his trip to New Zealand, but — knowing that Mick is struggling — she opted to stay put in London, and thus chose her soulmate.

Mick was overwhelmed to discover that Linda had decided to stay, and therefore he opened up about what’s been troubling him the past couple of months.

He admitted that Frankie is his daughter, and Linda was horrified, having come to believe that Mick cheated on her and kept it a secret.

However, Mick soon clarified, and Linda worked out the rest on her own. Having realised that Mick had been abused, she wrapped her arms around him and made it clear that she will support him no matter what.

Linda apologised profusely for cheating with Max, making clear that she would’ve never done so if she’d known what he was going through, and that she only did so because she thought they were over.

Mick argued that her actions were his fault for pushing her away, but he refused to go to the police regarding his discovery about Katy.

The much-loved couple sat on Arthur’s bench and discussed their future, and held hands once more.
