The second contestant has been unmasked in the latest series of The Masked Singer UK, leaving viewers in a state of utter shock.

For week two of the singing competition, Harlequin went up against Blob, Seahorse faced Viking and Bush Baby was pitted against Grandfather Clock.

Harlequin was the first of the six competitors to land in the bottom three, before being joined by Seahorse and Grandfather Clock as a result of the studio audience votes.

In the end, panellists Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross chose to unmask Seahorse, revealing none other than Mel B behind the disguise.

One person said said that they ‘called’ the result of Seahorse’s unmasking.

Another described the Spice Girls singer as a ‘Queen’.

After the big reveal, Mel B admitted that she thought she’d done a good job at disguising her voice.

Cleary the costume wasn’t enough to hide her true identity to some viewers!

Mel B added that she reckons her fellow Spice Girls will be ‘annoyed’ she didn’t tell them she was appearing on the show.

Mel B said that she ‘loved’ taking on the ‘cute’ persona of the Seahorse, as she was able to adopt a ‘sweet, cutesy character which is a bit different to me’.

‘She was so pretty with all the coloured lights and the ruffles,’ the singer said.

‘The mask was pretty hard to wear because it was quite hard to breathe which makes it even more hard to sing – especially as I was trying to sing in this breathy, girly voice.’

Last week, Alien became the first contestant on the new series of The Masked Singer UK to be unmasked.

After landing in the bottom three with Swan and Badger, Alien was selected by the panellists to get the chop, revealing singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor under the costume.

First Sophie, then Mel B… who will become the third celeb to be unveiled?

The Masked Singer returns on Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
