The life of Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) in Coronation Street can be seen as a bit of a simple one. He goes to work, he comes home, has his dinner, sees his children and repeats – day in, day out. It’s not often that the drama Tyrone is involved in ever impacts his life dramatically but soon things are set to change, as he collapses in a heart attack terror.
Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) returns form visiting Gary (Mikey North) and breaks the news to Tyrone and Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) that Gary’s fuming and insists they find the £600 they’ve cost him in stolen stock.
As they continue to row over the stolen furniture, Tyrone suddenly grips his chest in agony and slumps to the floor. Fiz screams at Evelyn to call an ambulance.
Later, a worried Fiz and Evelyn wait in A&E for news of Tyrone. When a sheepish Tyrone emerges and reveals that it was nothing more than heartburn, Fiz is awash with relief while Evelyn can’t believe they had a wasted trip.
As Fiz and Evelyn discuss his new health regime, Tyrone tries to feign enthusiasm.
Will this health scare cause Tyrone to realise he needs to change and leave his old life behind?
