The stars of Gogglebox couldn’t believe their eyes as they watched a business for peculiar-looking nose filters make its way onto Dragons’ Den, with Izzi Warner asking if it’s a ‘beak’.
On the latest episode of BBC’s Dragons’ Den, an entrepreneur called Carina faced the Dragons to ask for a £50,000 investment for a 2.5% stake in her Nosy invention, a nose clip that prevents people from breathing in polluted air.
While the business experts in the Den appeared incredulous over her creation, Tej Lalvani – who is soon going to be replaced on the show by Steven Bartlett – ended up making an offer for all of the money for a 15% share in the business, provided it actually worked.
On Friday’s edition of Gogglebox, the stars of the Channel 4 series were absolutely befuddled by product, with Vanessa Malone exclaiming: ‘What is that?’
‘Has he broken his nose?’ Sophie Sandiford mockingly said as she watched a model parading the accessory, while Lee Rigby stated: ‘What the f*** is that?!’
Lee was left in hysterics when his close pal, Jenny Newby, revealed that she hadn’t even noticed the nose filters at first, as she was too preoccupied by what the models were wearing.
When the entrepreneur revealed how much money she was seeking from the Dragons, Pete Sandiford was astounded by the figure.
‘F***ing hell! How much is the company worth?’ he remarked.
At one point during the Dragons’ Den episode, the nose filter fell off as a Dragon attempted to put it on, prompting Izzi to say that Carina was ‘off to a terrible start’.
Nonetheless, the entrepreneur’s fortunes turned around as she did walk away with an offer, despite each unit of her product retailing at a staggering £85.
Gogglebox viewers were similarly bemused by the business pitch.
‘What class of an eejit would wear those nose things??? #gogglebox,’ one person tweeted.
‘Whattttt £85 for those stupid nose beaks…’ another Twitter user commented.
Someone else wrote: ‘If I wore one of those nose things, I get laughed at even more than I normally do.’
Nonetheless, it was Carina who had the last laugh as she received not one, but two offers for business investments, turning down an offer from Dragon Touker Suleyman.
Gogglebox airs on Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
