Names of some of the 159 people missing in Miami Beach building collapse

More than a day after a Miami Beach-area condominium partially collapsed at night as occupants slept, at least 159 people are still missing. On Friday morning, authorities upped the number unaccounted for from 99, and said that four people were confirmed dead.

The Champlain Towers South partially collapsed around 1.30am Thursday. On Friday morning, search and rescue efforts shifted to the rubble. The number of people accounted for rose to 120, which Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said ‘is way up from the original count so we are very, very grateful’.

However, Cava said the numbers ‘are very fluid’ and would continue to be updated.

‘The search and rescue team worked throughout the night, and it was a very active scene,’ she said.

Among the missing are a British and US citizen, Bhavna Patel, 38, her husband Vishal Patel, 42, and their one-year-old daughter Aishani. Michelle Bachelet, the first cousin of Chile’s former president and current UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, has also not been found.   

Officials have not released a full list of missing people, but local news outlets have compiled names from speaking with families looking for their loved ones.

Here is a list of some of the people who are unaccounted for, as reported by the New York Daily News late afternoon Thursday:

• Edgar Gonzalez, a 45-year-old man whose wife and daughter were hospitalized and have been unable to contact him, per WPLG.
• Nancy Kress Levin, member of The Shul in Surfside and one of at least 34 Jewish people reported missing in the tragedy, per the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
• Jay Kleinman, member of The Shul in Surfside.
• Frankie Kleinman, member of The Shul in Surfside.
• Arie Leib, member of The Shul in Surfside.
• Yisorel Tzvi Yosef, member of The Shul in Surfside.
• Tzvi Doniel, member of The Shul in Surfside.
• Deborah Berezdivin, member of The Shul of Bal Harbour, according to WPLG.
• Ilan Naibryf, Deborah Berezdivin’s boyfriend. The young couple were pictured in a photograph, per WTVJ.
• Cassandra Stratton, whose husband is flying in from Coloardo, per WPLG.
• Brad Cohen, an orthopedic surgeon whose wife is looking for him and his unnamed brother, per WTVJ.
• Ray Urgelles, father of Jenny Urgelles
• Mercy Urgelles, mother of Jenny Urgelles and Ray’s wife.
• Maria Rovirosa, a woman who lived with her husband, Ricky. A cousin said the family had been unable to contact them all morning.
• Ricky Rovirosa, Maria’s husband.
• Arnie Notkin, a youth football coach who had lived in the building for many years, per WTVJ.
• Maria Notkin, Arnie’s wife.
• Claudio Bonnefoy, uncle of former Chilean president Michelle Bachelet, per WTVJ.
• Maria Bonnefoy, Claudio’s wife.
• Linda March, an attorney from New York who recently moved to Surfside, per WPLG.
• Michael Altman, a man who lived on the 11th floor.
• Luis Andres Bermudez, a young man with muscular dystrophy.
• Ana Ortiz, Bermudez’s mother who lived with him, per WFOR.
• Sophia Lopez Moreira, sister of Paraguay’s first lady.
• Luis Pettengill, Sophia Lopez Moreira’s husband. Their three children are also missing, but have not been named.
• Lady Luna Villalba, who worked for the couple.
• Leon Oliwkowicz, a 79-year-old man whose daughter cannot find him, per WPLG.
• Christina Elvira Oliwkowicz, Leon’s 74-year-old wife.
• Luis Barth, a 51-year-old man who lived on the second floor, per WSCV.
• Catalina Gomez, Luis’ 44-year-old wife.
• Valeria Barth, a 14-year-old girl and Luis and Catalina’s daughter.
• Fabian Nuñez, a man who had just adopted a young daughter.
• Andres Galfrasconi, who adopted the young girl alongside his partner, Fabian Nuñez.
• Sofia Nuñez Galfrasconi, a young girl who had recently been adopted by Nuñez and Galfrasconi, per WPLG.
• Angela Maria Velasquez, a 60-year-old woman whose family cannot contact her or other relatives, per WTVJ.
• Julio Cesar Velasquez, a 67-year-old man.
• Theresa Velasquez, a 36-year-old woman.
• Marcus Guara, husband of Ana Guara and father of young daughters Lucia and Emma Guara.
• Ana Guara, wife of Marcus Guara and mother of young daughters Lucia and Emma Guara.
• Lucia Guara, daughter of Marcus and Ana Guara.
• Emma Guara, daughter of Marcus and Ana Guara.
• Ana Mora, a woman who lived on the 10th floor with her husband, Juan, per WTVJ.
• Juan Mora, Ana’s husband.
• Alfredo Leone, a man who lived on the fifth floor.
• Lorenzo Leone, Alfredo’s young son. His mom was out of town and was flying home Wednesday, per WFOR.
• Marina Azen, a woman who lived in the building for 20 years, per WFOR.
• Moises Rodan, a 28-year-old man who lived on the third floor.
• Nicky Langesfeld, a woman who lived on the eighth floor.
• Luis Sadovnic, a man who lived on the eighth floor and appeared close with Langesfeld, per WFOR.
• Judy Spiegel, a 66-year-old woman.
• Estelle Hedaya, a woman whose friend can no longer contact her.
• Graci Cattarossi, a woman whose friends cannot reach her.
• Stella Cattarossi, Graci’s daughter.
• Ruslan Manshirov, a man who lived on the seventh floor, per WTVJ.
• Nicole Doran-Manshirov, who lived with Ruslan.
