Succession is likely to come to an end after season 4, according to series writer and executive producer Georgia Pritchett.

The HBO drama following billionaire Logan Roy and his children’s fight to be named successor of his business empire has become one of the most acclaimed shows around since first arriving in 2018.

Filming is currently underway on series three, but it looks like the end of the beloved satire could soon be in sight.

Speaking about the show’s future, Pritchett said there could be one or two more chapters left before it’s wrapped up.

‘I think the maximum would be five seasons, but possibly more like four,’ she said.

Pritchett added to The Times: ‘We’re at the end of filming season three, so at this point [creator Jesse Armstrong] is saying only one more. But that happens every time. We’ve got a good end in sight.’

As it stands, plot details for Succession season three are still firmly under wraps, but we can guarantee the new episodes will deal with the fallout from the dramatic series two finale.

The drama was left Kendall (Jeremy Strong) effectively declaring war on his father Logan (Brian Cox), ratting him and his shady dealings out in a very public press conference.

The move came as Logan and the family opted to throw Kendall under the bus as a ‘blood sacrifice’ for the company, which would result on him going to prison for the mishandling of the company.

Teasing the new episodes, Cox said: ‘I nearly fell off my chair because he [Jesse] never tells you about the next series.’

He added to The Hollywood Reporter: ‘We never knew from episode to episode what was going to happen. But then he told me. And it’s jolly thrilling. That’s all I can say.’

In December, it was announced that cast members Justine Lupe, David Rasche and Fisher Stevens, who have all previously appeared on the show, will become even more vital to the plot for season three.

Succession seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Sky and NOW.
