Strictly Come Dancing 2021 is here – with Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, Loose Women’s Judi Love and The Crown actor Greg Wise just some of the stars vying for the Glitterball.
There’s a real mix of talent taking part this year – from professional athletes to presenters – but contestants with physical prowess and a career rooted in being active often make it to the final.
But sometimes, there’s a snake-hipped dark horse who can bag the trophy, as we witnessed last year.
Who went on to win Strictly 2020?
Who won the last series of Strictly?
Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse were crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2020 beating HRVY, Jamie Laing and Maisie Smith in the finale.
The victory was historic for more reasons than one – Bill officially became the oldest winner at the age of 55, and Oti became the first professional to take home the glitterball for two consecutive years.
Upon winning, Bill said: ‘It feel surreal, it feels extraordinary, it feels wonderful.’
‘I never thought we’d get this far, never thought we’d get to the final.’
His dance partner, Oti, told him: ‘I think you are amazing, remarkable. You just put your heart and soul into everything.’
‘Thank you for being a friend, a father figure to me, a brother, and for this [referring to the glitterball trophy].’
Could Oti score a hat-trick and take home the trophy for the third consecutive year with her partner
Ugo Monye? If her and Bill managed to defy the bookies’ initial 50/1 odds last year, then anything could happen!
Strictly Come Dancing 2021 starts on Saturday at 7pm on BBC One
