The Nest aired its third episode tonight and it’s fair to say that the drama has well and truly been cranked up to full blast.
The 60-minute chapter shocked as Dan discovered that Kaya brutally murdered a mother and her unborn baby as a child, sharing the disturbing news with his sister Hilary and eventually, his wife Emily.
Of course, it didn’t take long for this information to cause chaos though, as Hilary struggled to keep Kaya’s troubling past to herself, blurting everything out to her son before prom night.
The school ball couldn’t have been more dramatic, with Jack confronting Kaya about her backstory and who ‘Neve’ really is. And it all came to a head when pregnant Kaya was found the following day soaking wet and unresponsive by a waterfall.
It goes without saying that we’ve got a lot of questions that need answering by the end of the next chapter…
Will Kaya and her baby survive, and if so, will she give it over to Dan and Emily?
Kaya’s baby was delivered at just 25 weeks and has been placed in an incubator in a desperate bid to help survival.
Although the teen was only meant to be carrying the child for Dan and Emily, a nurse pointed out that Kaya is still legally the mother.
And, unless the couple had addressed birthing complications in their contract, there could be problems with the husband and wife getting their hands on the little one.
On top of that, Kaya is currently battling an infection as she recovers from her operation.
Will Kaya decide to keep the baby once she’s recovered? And even more pressing, will the baby survive?
Will Dan and Emily tell Kaya they know about her past?
Now Dan and Emily both know who Kaya really is, will they confront her about it? Or will Kaya’s social worker be the one to break the news?
Dan and Emily have already gone to the police to inform them that Kaya is in fact a young killer with a new identity, so it seems that the teen isn’t far off from learning that her secret is out.
If this is the case, how will Kaya react? Are Dan and Emily safe?
Who killed Kaya’s neighbour Doddy?
Doddy was declared dead in episode two, with his cause of death being classed as drugs related.
However, that might not be the case after all. It now appears that Doddy was murdered, but exactly who the perpetrator is remains under wraps for now.
Kaya’s social worker James looked super shifty upon learning that Doddy had been killed, raising suspcions that the could be the culpritt. However, let’s not rule Kaya and Dan out as suspects either.
In episode two, Dan demanded Doddy’s name after he was branded a ‘pimp’, and remember when Kaya kicked off when Doddy threatened to go to the press?
Did Dan do it, or did he hire someone to take care of Kaya’s nosy neighbour?
Is it all over between Jack and Kaya?
Jack and Kaya had appeared to be completely loved up, but that quickly changed after the discovery of Kaya’s past.
Initially, Jack scorned his mum for judging Kaya on her previous actions, but he flipped out when his date wouldn’t tell him the truth about what she’d done and who Neve was.
Will the pair be able to get things back on track or is this the end of their romance?
What will Kaya’s mum tell journalist?
Kaya’s mum has accepted an interview with the press to discuss her daughter.
But what information will Siobhan reveal and how will this effect the rest of the series going forward?
The Nest continues on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
