Max Branning (Jake Wood) breaks down in EastEnders, ahead of his upcoming exit.

It’s been a tough couple of months for Max.

The Walford legend fell in love with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), but the former Queen Vic landlady ultimately chose her husband Mick (Danny Dyer) instead of him — which ultimately left him heartbroken.

In the coming episodes, the struggle continues for Max, and — as he looks after baby Abi — he begins to reminisce about her mother.

Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) is concerned that his brother isn’t coping all that well, but the copper’s attention is elsewhere given Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) disappearance.

Max spots a flyer for a clairvoyant and, ultimately, he makes the decision to go and meet with her.

As he does so, he becomes emotional and ultimately breaks down — as he doesn’t know what to believe.

Jack informs Rainie Highway (Tanya Franks) that Max isn’t himself, and therefore she decides to keep Abi for another night, as she’s convinced he isn’t fit to look after her.

Max is having a hard time of it, and one can’t help but wonder if his struggles will lead to him deciding to leave Walford?

The iconic character is set to exit soon.

One to watch: Tuesday February 9 at 7:35pm on BBC One.
