A viewer watching Michelle Dewberry on GB News made a NSFW comparison about the presenter’s top on the news channel… prompting a light-hearted reply from the former Apprentice star.

On Sunday night, Andrew Neil’s GB News officially launched, with the chairman delivering an opening monologue vowing to ‘expose’ the ‘growing promotion of cancel culture for the threat to free speech and democracy that it is’.

Amid a spate of technical difficulties, including the live feed temporarily cutting out during a morning news segment, GB News has seen its new presenters take centre stage, including Kirsty Gallacher, Simon McCoy and Alastair Stewart.

On Twitter, one viewer shared a picture of Michelle presenting on the channel wearing a white top with two buttoned pockets on the front, which several other viewers agreed looked like something else at a glance.

‘This top was a poor choice,’ the Twitter user cheekily wrote, alongside an eyes emoji.

Fortunately, Michelle took the NSFW comparison in good humour, replying with a couple of cry-laughing emojis.

After realising that they had caught Michelle’s attention, the Twitter user apologised for their post, expressing their awkwardness with emojis including the monkey covering their eyes and the grimacing face.

Michelle emphasised that there was no harm done, tweeting: ‘Lol, I very rarely take offence don’t worry. The tweet made me laugh.’

One Twitter user commented on the original post, writing: ‘I’m watching this now, didn’t notice. Now it’s all I see.’

‘Hahaha I really had to look at that photo twice!’ another remarked.

Michelle’s GB News show, Dewbs and Co, sees the ‘plain-speaking, straight-talking’ presenter deliver ‘her individual take on the day’s news’.

It was recently announced that brands Kopparberg and Nivea had suspended their advertisements with GB News.

Although GB News already counts many viewers as fans, others have accused the channel of promoting ‘right wing propaganda’.

Some critics called for a boycott of the companies that advertised on GB News, including Facebook, Ikea, Boots and Kellogg’s.

Swedish alcohol brand Kopparberg claimed that it was not aware their advert was shown on GB News, releasing a statement that read: ‘Kopparberg is a drink for everyone and we have immediately suspended our ads from this channel pending further review of its content.’

Nivea later confirmed to Metro.co.uk that it would also be suspending ads from the channel, with a spokesperson saying: ‘Media buying algorithms mean our adverts are automatically allocated across a wide selection of channels often without our knowledge, which is what has taken place in this instance.

‘Typically, we would wait for a few months after a new channel or publication has launched before advertising with them, to ensure that they reflect the values we hold as a company. We have paused our advertising with GB News in line with this policy and will review this decision in three months.’

Dewbs and Co airs weeknights on GB News at 6pm.
