Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus shared a picture of himself with a bald head as a result of chemotherapy on Sunday.
The musician, 49, wished his Instagram followers a happy American Independence Day on July 4, writing: ‘The Cancer Haver wishes you all a very happy Fourth of July weekend.’
Rocker Mark was completely bald in the snap as he sat outside.
The star confirmed he had been diagnosed with cancer last month and told fans he was undergoing treatment.
He said in a statement: ‘For the past three months I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.
‘I have cancer. It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this.
‘I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can’t wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the hopefully near future. Love to you all.’
His followers were quick to send him well wishes, with Travis Barker posting a tribute photo to Mark on social media in which The All The Small Things singer can be seen kissing Mark on the head.
‘Love you Mark Hoppus,’ wrote Travis, with a black love heart emoji.
Fellow band member Tom DeLonge also showed his support, writing on Twitter: ‘I too have been aware of @markhoppus’s cancer diagnosis for a while now.
‘And to add to his own words that he used today, I would also like to say that he is strong, and a super-human who is pushing through this difficult obstacle with a wide-open heart. #WeHaveHisBack.’
The musician is married to wife Skye Everly, a former MTV talent executive, after they met on the set of the All The Small Things music video in 1999.
They welcomed son Jack together in 2002, with the dad-of-one getting their names tattooed on his wrists in tribute.
Mark makes up Blink-182 alongside Travis Barker and Matt Skiba, as well as band Simple Creatures alongside All Time Low frontman Alex Gaskarth.
